The Seattle Times: Blisscotti
It isn’t often a newspaper article moves me to action. School reform? Maybe. Immigration? Possibly. Weapons of mass destruction? Perhaps. But in reality, the daily newspaper doesn’t usually move me further than the box of recyclables. So when today’s edition of the Seattle Times moved me all the way to the supermarket up the block, I was quite surprised.
I wholeheartedly blame business reporter Melissa Allison. Her offbeat profile of the Renton, Washington based ice cream sandwich company, Blisscotti, piqued my appetite early this morning. And after a quick Google search the well designed Blisscotti website convinced me a special dessert was on the menu tonight.
Currently available only in the western states, Blisscotti are delicious ice cream sandwiches made with thin, buttery biscotti wafers, sharp dark chocolate, and smooth ice cream. Although a bit expensive, Blisscotti are made from all natural ingredients. The Very Vanilla Bean Blisscotti was indeed blissful.
According to the Times profile, Blisscotti’s street team will soon be handing out free samples in Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Keep your eye out for their Bliscotti Volkswagen Beetles!
