Easter Procrastinators, Check In Here

If you’re like me, and I can’t be the only one, you’re running around taking care of last minute details before Easter and the Bunny arrive at your house … I have everything I need for my son and stepdaughter’s Easter basket, but there’s always those niggly details that get in the way. I still have to get the goodies for the Easter basket for my son’s girlfriend. Yes, even at the tender age of 3-1/2, he has a girlfriend; more than that, they’ve been “together” for nearly a year now!

If you’re in need of some Easter inspiration yourself, you still have some time to get it from the April issue of Martha Stewart Living. Filled with all sorts of ideas, from beginner to advanced, you’ll find something that speaks to you. Of course, being Martha, she has quite a few takes on what to do with eggs … be they beribboned like her daughter, Alexis, made for her or her new chocolate filled eggs, the creativity abounds. I saw her make the chocolate filled ones on a recent episode of her show, and they’re a bit too fiddly for my taste (and time constraints), but it’s certainly a different spin for the holidays.

Years back, when The Husband and I were still in the early stages of dating, I remember being enticed by Martha’s big egg-idea-of-the-year, when she took hollowed out eggshells, painted, of course, and filled them with wax, topped with a wick, to make Easter Egg candles. Never again. I repeat, never. Sure, they looked nice when done, but I quickly found out what a mess hot wax makes. Luckily he married me anyway.

If the chocolate-filled eggs aren’t your thing, there are adorable Spring Chick Cakes (pictured above), Marshmallow Bunnies and a plethora of Easter and Passover recipes for your dinner table … dig in before the holiday passes you by.
