Seattle Times: Dinner with the Gates

Northwest favorites including hazelnuts, halibut, and Walla Walla onions will be on the menu as Chinese President Hu Jinto visits the home of Microsoft founder Bill Gates this evening. The Seattle Times reports this morning more than 100 guests, including Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell, as well as former Governor Gary Locke, may attend the event. The menu and official guest list have been kept private, but reportedly Bill and Melinda Gates will be offering guests a choice of three entrees: fillet of beef, Alaskan halibut, and a vegetarian option, each followed with a rhubarb almond cake.

I’m not sure! But my guess would be the beef came from central Washington somewhere.
