The cost of a promise?

According to the Hartford Courant, a mother was issued a $2,700 fine last month in West Hartford, Conn. when she dropped off snacks to her daughter’s drama club.
Courant Staff Writer Katie Melone explains that the mother, who suffers from a number of physical ailments, had promised snacks to her daughter’s King Philip Middle School drama workshop (who were rehearsing for their Charlie and the Chocolate Factory production) and was dropping off pretzels during dismissal time. She passed six buses with their stop signs extended (they were parked in the school’s drive) and ended up receiving infractions for six counts of passing a school bus ($450 a pop).
I think the Courant says it all in their headline: $2,700? That’s A Lot of Pretzels.
