Get Grillin’

With summer fast approaching, and Memorial Day less than a week away, people will be firing up the grills in unbelievable numbers, making this a perfect time for Charlotte Observers’ Carolina Living section to focus on, what else, but grilling. According to the annual Weber GrillWatch Survey, the foods we grill most often are hamburgers (68 percent), steaks (46 percent) and chicken pieces (43 percent). The question is, with so many wonderful, fresh foods out there, why do we always grill the same ol’ things?

The Charlotte Observer offers up “10 great things to put on a grate:”

1. Pizza
2. Tuna
3. Salmon
4. Flank Steak
5. Pork Tenderloin
6. Beer Can Chicken
7. Asparagus
8. Tomato Bread
9. Fruit
10. Corn

Pork tenderloin has always been one of my favorite things to grill, and last year I’m proud to say we ventured outside of the norm and tried grilling some fruits and asparagus from the grill. Both were very easy and delicious. Carolina Living offers up some tasty recipes for you to give a try, so lets get grillin’!
