A Dream? A Nightmare?

This sounds like it should be in a Ripley’s Believe it or Not. ABC reports that a man was trapped, yes trapped, in chocolate up to his waist. Donovan Garcia, a 21-year old employee of a chocolate ingredient supply company, was trapped in bubbling vat of chocolate for over two hours. He “was pushing the chocolate down into the vat at Debelis Corporation because it was stuck. But it became loose and he slid into the hopper.”

‘It was in my hair, in my ears, my mouth, everywhere,’ said Garcia, who has worked at the company for two years. ‘I felt like I weighed 900 pounds. I couldn’t move.’

The chocolate was 110 degrees, hotter than a hot tub, said Capt. Greg Sinnen of the Kenosha Fire Department.

How did they get him out, you may ask? After trying and trying, he wouldn’t budge. So, this being a chocolate supply company, they thinned out the chocolate with cocoa butter. Luckily, Garcia suffered only minor injuries and was treated and released from a local hospital.

So let this be a lesson, next time you are stirring a huge vat of bubbling chocolate (all chocoholics, please make sure you are still breathing after that phrase), don’t fall in.
