Giorgio Locatelli’s Made in Italy.
This is the current hot book in foodie circles. Olive magazine writes that “This is set to become one of the seminal books on Italian cooking and is a must-have for beginners and established cooks alike. Packed with information on ingredients and methods, it makes a lovely read as well as being a fantastic recipe book; that may sound ridiculous but so many books don’t make the grade when you try to cook from them. We made and loved the tuna salad with borlotti beans and red onions, and pappardelle with chicken livers and sage.”
Duly ordered from Amazon! But for those who can’t wait this months Observer Food Monthly is to reprint 10 recipes from the book and offer 10 copies in a competition. Nigel Slater, editor of OFM, writes that Giorgio Locatelli’s book is his “new 600-page book, Made in Italy, is my book of the year and puts everything else I have on my Italian shelf in the shade. The pasta chapter alone is worth the price of admission.”
Incidently the photographs in the book were taken by Dan Lepard; a podcast interview by Silverbrow is worth a listen.
Giorgio Locatelli Made In Italy available from Amazon UK for £16.79 and Amazon USA for $33.08.
