Is Good Food Posh?

Jimmy DohertyThere is an article in last weeks’ Times reporting on Jimmy Doherty - he of the BBC’s Jimmy’s Farm - advocating that good food is not posh.

Is good food posh? I never really considered enjoying food as being posh. Yes, there are restaurants that I will never be able to afford to eat in (and frankly wouldn’t be comfortable in them if I could) but even on my meager budget, I eat well.

Doherty mentions that last week he boiled a pig’s head to make brawn; a dish that his grandmother use to make in the East End of London. Nothing posh about that. He also makes a plea for farmers in general to become marketing experts. An interesting read.
