Recipes for the Taking

costco.gifI love Costco. Really, I do. Besides the savings on items I buy there, the quality of meat and seafood is superb. But Costco is a dangerous place. More often than not, I go in for 1 or 2 items, and come out with something like bunk beds. What can I say?

Members get some nice perks. Their monthly Costco Connection magazine is not only a heads up on what products, books and the like are going to hit the store, but it also has articles by such notables as Suze Orman and Dr. Mehmet Oz. Another nifty perk is that once a year, Costco publishes their own cookbook, filled with quite a variety of recipes using their products. And the bonus? It’s free. They give it away to members as they leave the warehouse over a designated weekend. They’ve been doing it since 2002 and don’t announce which weekend, but I’ve been lucky enough to get all 5 years worth. Can’t beat that.

But the best news, particularly if you’re not a member of Costco, is that you can download all their cookbooks right from their website right here. Scroll down to the bottom and you’ll see links for the past 5 cookbooks. Happy reading!

Perhaps you’re having better luck than I am, but I’ve tried both Internet Explorer and Firefox, and Costco seems to have only the “Cooking in Style” cookbook available with a download link. You can browse the others, but so far, I haven’t been able to save as a PDF. Any suggestions?

I haven’t tried to save the files, but have printed them all just fine. Maybe they can’t be saved?
