Cookbooks Nominated for the 2007 James Beard Foundation Awards
I’m always on the lookout for new cookbooks. I like referrals from friends, magazines and blogs. I also love top ten lists and editor’s picks. So naturally I am very interested in the cookbooks nominated for the 2007 James Beard Foundation Awards. There are thirteen book categories plus cookbook of the year. Many nominees are cookbooks I have not heard — and maybe some new ones to buy! I only own four on the entire list.
Established in 1990, The James Beard Foundation Awards recognizes outstanding achievement within the fine food and beverage industry. The Awards honor professionals including book authors, chefs, restaurateurs, winemakers, journalists, broadcasters and restaurant and graphic designers in the United States.
The nominees were announced by the James Beard Foundation on March 19th. Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony at Lincoln Center’s legendary Avery Fisher Hall, New York City on Monday, May 7, 2007. Cookbook of the year will be announced on May 7th. The James Beard Foundation Awards is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. All of the cookbooks on the list were published in the United States during 2006.
