New Cookbook from Martha Stewart

It’s been awhile since Miss Martha released a cookbook, and with this new one, Great Food Fast, she’s giving Rachael Ray a run for her money. A whopping 380+ pages of recipes, the cover screams Spring, and with the seven inches of snow we got last Friday, I am very ready to see Spring.

My two favorite features of the book?

There is a full color picture of every single recipe, even the chocolate sauce and the whipped cream in the very back. Second? Right before the back index, there is a complete nutritional breakdown for every recipe, which is wonderful. A lot of cookbooks skip this step.

The recipes from this book come from Martha’s popular magazine, Everyday Food, and are broken down by season.

A quick scan of the cookbook, and it looked like the longest recipe was 45 minutes, with the majority of them in the 15 or 30 minute periods, which is perfect. You’ll find recipes for Cream of Asparagus Soup, Risotto with Peas and Zucchini, Rhubarb Crisp, Greek-Style Mini Lamb Burgers, Corn Fritters, Shredded Beet and Carrot Salad, Pear Custard Tart, Moroccan Chicken Couscous, Spicy Black Bean Cakes, Chocolate Swirl Gingerbread and many more.

Great Food Fast - it’s a good thing.

I just saw this at the book store. I flipped through it and it does look great. I loved all the colored photos of the food. I didn’t get it yet though . . .
