Nigella Lawson’s Guilty Pleasure
In a recent issue of Oprah’s magazine, the topic was “guilty pleasures,” and celebrities from every walk of life weighed in … Thomas Keller, Amy Sedaris, Isaac Mizrahi and Nigella Lawson, to name a few.
One thing about the way Nigella writes, you can instantly recognize her prose. She has a very specific, romantic, sultry way of writing that is really all hers, no matter what the topic. And her guilty pleasure? Dinner in Bed.
“My chief sin in their eyes is that I do not always practice what I preach and sit down to eat with all my family, but rather feed them and then sneak upstairs to eat my supper in bed. I compound this sin, but also my pleasure somehow, but not having a tray. I love beautiful linens and adore my bed, but I am uncaring about the spillage and drips and crumbs I leave in my lazy, greedy wake.”
