Forbes Lists Top 10 Cities for Foodies

ForbesForbes magazine isn’t one we usually cover here at Paper Palate, but I couldn’t resist sharing this article in the most recent issue.  In its travel section, Forbes set out to list the top ten cities for foodies.

So how on earth would they narrow it down to just ten?  They decided that: ”A foodie city has a good mix of restaurants–some with an international reputation and that are true classics, others that are excellent but that people may not have heard of” and “[i]t has food markets that sell produce as well as local products, such as oil and cheeses. It also has good artisanal bakeries.”

Here is the list of the ten best cities for foodies (I don’t think they are ranked in any order).  To see them in pictures and read more about why Forbes chose each place, check out the full article here.

    1. New York City
    2. Las Vegas
    3. Los Angeles
    4. Paris
    5. Bologna, Italy
    6. Singapore
    7. Palermo, Sicily
    8. Barcelona
    9. London
    10. Sydney

Are there any that you think should have been added to the list?

New Orleans!
I guess it just goes without saying…

Ooooh, that’s a good one. Don’t think anyone can argue with that.

Not including New Orleans on your list is a travesty. Contrary to popular thought, there are more restaurants open now than pre-Katrina. The quality has always been there from the finest cuisine to the grocery store serving poboys.

Art, tell it to Forbes - they are the ones that created the list!
