Re-naming this publication "GREENS" is an excellent way to broaden the reader base. I'm not a vegeterian, but I do enjoy vegeterian meals. I probably wouldn't have picked up a magazine titled "Vegeterian Times", but I did choose to browse through "GREENS", and was delighted to find lots of yummy vegan recipies inside! I think the new name should STAY!

I bought greens magazine for the 2nd month in a row because I thought it was a new magazine put out by vegetarian times, but with a healthier spin. It was only when trying to go online and subscribe that I found this blog entry, found out they are one in the same, and felt like an idiot. I am a 23 and have been a vegetarian for over 10 years, but have often avoid vegetarian times for reasons i can't identify. I think it is a good idea to change the name if they are looking for a broader audience.

I think renaming the mag GREENS is a fresh and fantastic way to broaden your audience and really, to deliver an immediate and honest message about the content of the magazine. It's more about a lifestyle, and many people choose not to self-identify as vegetarians and may eat a largely vegan and vegetarian diet and in general, try to be as socially and environmentally responsible as possible. GREENS is a more well-rounded and inclusive approach. Love it!

Since I regularly peruse the magazine section for new cooking magazines, I noticed the "new" GREENS magazine right away, and since I was a vegetarian, was attracted to the byline saying it was from Vegetarian Times. However, I also noted that it appeared to have the same cover photo AND inside contents as the VT issue I had already received as part of my subscription; therefore, I did not buy it. IF, however, it had indeed been a NEW magazine with the original content - I most certainly would have purchased it!
