October 2007 Issue of Every Day with Rachael Ray

The October 2007 issue of Every Day with Rachael Ray looks like a good one! I have to say October is my favorite month (doesn’t everyone have a favorite month?) since it means I can finally start using the oven and stove regularly again instead of grilling everything. Those of you who also live through ridiculously hot Summers will understand. Here’s what you’ll find in the most recent issue.

Learn how to make pan gravy in Step by Step, then turn out Chicken breasts with pan gravy. Daisy Martinez is back in her new Mucho Gusto column with Beef Picadillo and Spanish Beef Picadillo.

The ever important 30-Minute Meals section features: Green Gobble-’Ems, Portobello Salad with Crispy Prosciutto, Spinoccolini Whole Wheat Pasta, Chicken Sausage, Pepper and Onion Stoup with Tomato Basil Gobble-’Ems, Creamy Spaghetti, Turkey Sweet-Potato Shepherd’s Pie, Chicken with Apple Gravy, Rice Pilaf and Green Beans, Chimichurri Steak, Chicken or Pork Chops with Asparagus and Tomato Couscous.

In No Recipe Zone, learn how to make Muffuletta-Style Braciola. The Burger of the Month is Burgers au Poivre. The burger recipes is accompanied by roasted potatoes, spinach, wine gravy, and horseradish sauce.

The entertaining section of the magazine, Get Together, is chock full of interesting recipes. Get a fun Halloween menu from Rachael Ray with Sinfully Stuffed Potato Skins, Sweet Balls of Fire, Wicket Hot Wings, Heavenly White-Chocolate Fondue, Lemon Clouds, Pearly Dates, Evil Spirits, and Tapped In.

Or, if you’re in the mood for an Oktoberfest party, you can make Bavarian Cheese Spread, Potato Dumplings, Cabbage Salad, Cucumber-Dill Salad, Beer-Roasted Pork Shoulder, and Emperor’s Pancakes.

The Express Lane feature has recipes with less than 10 ingredients (plus your Every Day Kitchen items). This month you can have a tailgating party with Grilled Apples with Bacon, Cheddar and Scallions, Onion-Garlic Dip, Steak Sandwiches with Chili Mayo, and Chocolate Peanut Bites.

Now, I’m not so sure about this one. The mag says that “our favorite cookies are just as fun in cocktail form.” Well, we can give it a try with Chocolate Chip Martinis, Liquid Oreos, Mint Milano Remixes, and Oatmeal Cookie Crushes.
