Cooking Light’s August Issue Inspired by Fresh Ingredients

Each month I anxiously await the latest issue of Cooking Light.  Most of the time my anticipation is rewarded with some fantastic new ideas and recipes. In the August issue, it seems the editors were inspired by the bounty of fresh ingredients we are all enjoying this time of year. It’s certainly an issue I will keep in order to reference some new ideas and recipes that represent the best of summer.

Grill Once, Eat Twice - this feature provides ideas on grilling enough one night so that the next night you will only have to add a few more ingredients and your meal will be complete.

Tomato Parade - in this article you’ll be introduced to many types of heirloom tomatoes and how to prepare them to really showcase their natural flavors.

Eat up, drink up - explains that even the food you eat can help you meet your daily hydration needs. Light and refreshing recipes are included in this article.

Curing & Pickling - this month’s Fundamental Techniques focuses on methods to preserve the incredible produce you can find now so that you can enjoy it in the winter months.

Cool Pasta Plates - fill the Dinner Tonight section with quick and simple meals that can be prepared with a minimum of time in the kitchen.

Those are just a few highlights from the August issue; be sure to pick one up so you can enjoy some fresh inspiration before summer turns into fall.
